We bring partners together in networks to advocate for reform, and share tools and best practices to support fishing communities across the globe.Summary job descriptionBlue Ventures is hiring a Financial Inclusion Officer in Denpasar, Indonesia. This role involves developing and supporting financial inclusion strategies, particularly Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), with partner organizations to strengthen economic resilience in coastal fishing communities. The officer will provide technical assistance, facilitate learning, and help create tools and training resources. The position requires frequent travel and a strong understanding of financial inclusion and community development in the Indonesian context.
As a Financial Inclusion Officer, part of the role involves adapting and contextualising tools and materials that support partners and communities in building financial resilience and improving livelihoods. These resources include:

Accessible Tools and Appropriate Technologies:

User-friendly and easily accessible solutions, such as mobile apps or spreadsheets for tracking savings and loans, simple decision-making tools for financial planning and business development, and community-level materials like meeting facilitation guides or tools to help groups identify viable income-generating activities. * Training Resources:Manuals, guides, videos, and online content that offer clear, practical information on financial literacy, VSLA management, small business planning, and basic bookkeeping are designed for self-paced learning and to strengthen partner capacity. * Knowledge Development:Structured learning activities such as workshops, webinars, and the creation of technical case studies to translate financial inclusion strategies into practice, enhance understanding of financial concepts, and share good practices from the field. * Skill Development:Hands-on training, mentoring, and peer learning exchanges tailored to enhance technical skills in areas such as VSLA facilitation, data collection and analysis, and the implementation of income-generating initiatives suited to local contexts.This role will report to the Financial Inclusion and Food Security Manager - Asia PacificTo download the full job description, please
