  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers.
  • Evaluate suppliers based on criteria such as quality, reliability, cost, and compliance.
  • Establish a vendor selection process that includes requests for proposals (RFPs) or requests for quotations (RFQs) as needed.
  • Negotiate contracts with selected suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
  • Include clauses for delivery schedules, quality standards, pricing mechanisms, and dispute resolution.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel if necessary to review and finalize contracts.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with key suppliers.
  • Schedule regular meetings with suppliers to discuss performance, issues, and improvement opportunities.
  • Implement inventory management systems to track stock levels and reorder points.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries, minimizing stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Monitor market pricing trends and conduct cost analysis to identify opportunities for savings.
  • Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers to secure competitive rates.
  • Implement cost-saving strategies such as bulk purchasing, supplier consolidation, or value engineering.
  • Develop risk mitigation plans to address identified risks proactively.
  • Maintain alternate supplier options and contingency plans to minimize disruptions.
  • Engage with various departments to understand their procurement needs and requirements.
  • Align purchasing strategies with departmental goals and overall company objectives.
  • Foster communication and collaboration to ensure efficient procurement processes.
  • Regularly review procurement processes and procedures to identify areas for optimization.
  • Implement improvements to enhance work rate, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Create budgets for procurement activities, including material purchases and supplier contracts.
  • Verify all documents related to procurement activities, including purchase orders, invoices, and contracts.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation for payment preparation and record-keeping purposes.
Fast paced working environment|Growing company
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in the agriculture or plantation industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to drive cost savings and optimize supplier relationships.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices and ethical sourcing standards.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build strong vendor relationships.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions.
