
Technical Expert, Electrical Field Engineering Projects

- Ensure all electrical work complies with applicable U.S. standards, including the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 70E for workplace safety, and OSHA regulations, governing safe design, installation, maintenance, and operational practices.
- Analyze erection and installation methods, recommending practical and cost-effective solutions to ensure high-quality project completion in a safe and timely manner.
- Review engineering designs and monitor construction procedures to ensure safety compliance. Initiate corrective actions and recommend solutions for field safety issues.
- Coordinate, gather, and verify multidisciplinary inputs to ensure engineering designs are precise and comprehensive.
- Review and monitor procurement and delivery of materials to ensure timely arrival at site and final destinations per project schedule.
- Perform QA/QC inspections on construction materials to ensure quality and availability for project execution.
- Create vendor schedules, define scopes of work, and monitor onsite progress to ensure alignment with project timelines and deliverables.
- Review all drawings for compliance with PTFI standards and construction sequencing. Act as the main point of contact between field operations and engineering to resolve field issues.
- Oversee the issuance of project status reports and other documentation to construction teams, ensuring accuracy and validity of information.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with superior knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 70E.
- Fifteen (15) years of experience in engineering with major capital construction projects.
- Five (5) years of experience in engineering or construction projects in an underground mining environment.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, safety protocols, and engineering documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and project management tools.
- Effective communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to operate in an overseas environment with respect to differing cultural norms and values.
- Experience with QA/QC procedures, vendor coordination, and field engineering.
- The ability to comply with PTFI standards and construction sequencing.
- Ability to lead in-field problem solving and cross-functional collaboration.
