Institutional Banking provides Institutional customers with a full range of commercial banking products and services, including cash management services, current accounts, time deposits, trade finance, working capital finance, term loans and foreign exchange. Through our continued commitment, DBS has cultivated long-standing relationships with its customers in the region that are based on account relationship management, service differentiation, product development and rigorous credit standards.Responsibilities:Governance and Control team is responsible for the development and maintenance of risk management and internal control frameworks in IBG. We provide independent review and challenge to business to ensure that appropriate balance is considered in risk/return decision. In additional, Governance and Control team is responsible for the monitoring and reporting on any key risk issues in IBG.Policies and Reporting
  • Develop or adopt and implement risk governance, policies, and standards for credit and operational risk management within IBG.
  • Partner with the other units across DBSI in implementing relevant credit and operational risk governance, policies, standards, tools, and methodologies to identify and assess key operational risks.
  • Provide advice and guidance to IBG team on credit and operational risk matters including risk management structure and processes, tailoring of Group policies, Provide Target Market & Risk Acceptance Criteria (TMRAC) guidance where applicable for location adoption, by considering the local regulatory requirement.
  • Independently assess key operational risk issues, monitor effectiveness of credit & operational risk management, and provide timely risk analysis and reporting IBG Management.
  • Perform analysis with the consolidated risk and loss data collected at IBG level; submit regular operational risk reports to senior management (via IBG BCC)
  • Identify and escalate internal and external systemic Credit and Operational risk issues/emerging trends, whilst ensuring that there are appropriate preventive/detective controls in place.
  • Promote risk and control awareness through training, sharing of best practices and lessons learnt.
  • Engage in major change initiatives of the business/support units (including new product/service and outsourcing), providing inputs to mitigate credit and operational risks.
  • Liaise with relevant business/support units’ partners in the various control and support functions e.g. Credit, Compliance, Legal, etc. in addressing credit and operational risk issues arising in the end-to-end processes
  • As appropriate, conduct reviews on credit and operational risk metrics including the responses and action plans, and assessing the effectiveness of these as adequate mitigants to the risks identified.

Requirements
  • Have work experience in related position.
  • Bachelor's Degree from reputable university
  • Highly motivated, self-driven, able to work without close supervision, making decision and strong control attitude.
